About Me
My name is Shavonna Noble. A native of Las Vegas, NV, who desires to be the next top female African American doctor worldwide.
I graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a B.S. in Athletic Training and a minor in Psychology in 2014. I was hesitant about wanting to commit fully to medicine because it is such a long path, and I struggled with the science courses. So I took multiple gap years before re-committing. While I took my time being obedient to the call, God sent numerous reminders to fulfill this goal. I eventually returned to school in 2016, obtaining my Associate of Science degree in Biology in 2019. Unfortunately, that degree alone was insufficient to increase my science GPA, and I was advised to get a master's degree. I applied, and many schools rejected me because the requirement was a high GPA to gain acceptance. The irony! However, I knew that God would open a door for me(Look what faith in God can do for you!)
In the summer of 2019, Virginia State University allowed me to redeem myself, which catapulted me into my destiny. So many opportunities from this one institution led me to where I am now. I graduated with an M.S. in Biology and matriculated into medical school in the fall of 2021.
I am currently a medical student in the Caribbean looking to specialize in anesthesiology. Even though medical school keeps me busy, I strongly desire to help young women thrive in this generation by pursuing their goals while following Christ. God wants us to live an abundant life, and I want all young and older women to know it is possible to have an enjoyable life while pursuing medicine or whatever career they choose. I often wonder if it is possible, but I am reminded, "I can do all things through Jesus Christ, who strengthens me."
I hope to inspire, encourage and lead the next generation of young women into successful careers in medicine. Even though it is a demanding career, there is so much more God wants us to accomplish in life, and we can do it with much organization and constant trust in God. He didn't just call us to one thing but to be everything he has called us to be. You can be everything God called you to be with discipline and organization.
Don't limit yourself!
Mentoring
Student doctor
medical school requires teamwork
As a student in medical school, I may not have all the answers, but I am willing to help in any way possible. Taking on the challenge of becoming a doctor can be tricky, but it can be even more challenging without the proper support. Throughout my semesters of medical school, I've learned to remain humble because you can learn from anybody. It does not matter the year a student may be in; we need everyone to make this happen.
